Also the Brazilian government gave Opala`s to its agents in the 70`s. That is not all, in Brazil, the Opala Chevrolet was the taxi driver`s favorite and was also favored on the race track! Because of its easy maintenance and reliability that is very understandable.
So, we can see why Wheeler Dealers decided to pursue the Opala Chevrolet while in Brazil. He managed to find one, and it looks very well preserved. And the price is only $6500! Mike Brewer immediately gave the owner a call. However, because of the language barrier the call starts badly. The owner of the Opala says that he only speaks Portuguese. But the owner, does know some phrases in English. The phrases he says are the following: good paint job, good interior, good car! That is enough for Mike Brewer to go and check out the car.
Mike is being greeted by the owner`s daughter, Frederica. And when Mike enters the car he is satisfied with what he sees. All those English phrases the owner knew proved to be true about the car. When he fires up the Opala`s engine the sound that comes out from the exhaust is quite awesome! Don`t expect to be the roar of a V12 but a great sound nevertheless. It is a great 4 cylinder!
After Mike takes the car for a test drive he immediately starts to bargain. He asks what`s the lowest she can come down to. She says $6000. That`s still a lot of money for Mike. However, he manages to bring down the price to $5200! Great buy for Wheeler Dealers!
