Ever wonder what would happen if started a drag race with a heavily modified VW Golf MK1 that has a broken drive shaft?! You can see the outcome in the video, where this Golf MK1 starts to jump like a rabbit!
This VW Golf MK1 is extremely modified. Tuned by Boba Motoring, It has a 4 motion 2.0 L and 16-V Turbo with 1.150 horsepower! It runs on E85 fuel. It can go from 0 – 62 mph in 1.90 seconds! Probably the fastest VW AWD in the whole world! So as you can see, it can be very dangerous starting with a broken drive shift, especially in a heavily tuned car like this. So, we guess the driver should be satisfied with only experiencing a jumping outcome. But, we also got to say, the driver really knew when to stop on time. A very good control in a bad situation. Great reflexes.
The creator of this car, Boba Motoring, reported in this video that in 4 years this is the first broken drive shaft. So we guess that this drive shaft is pretty solid, considering all that power this shaft had to deal with.
But we are wondering, can they make the driveshaft indestructible? Like out of titanium? They probably can, but who knows how much that will cost.
The VW Golf MK1 is pretty small made as an average family car. It was the successor of the already aging VW Beetle. But this guy made a real monster out of it! The VW Golf MK1 opponent in this video is an Audi Quattro. And oh god, the Quattro looks totally scared when the Golf starts to jump around.
Too bad the drive shaft broke. With 1.150 horsepower the VW GOLF MK1 would`ve probably annihilated the Quattro. Sorry for the owner of the car but we are not complaining too much. This jumping VW Golf MK1 just made our day. Oh well, this is the life of a racer. You break, repair then break and repair again.
