So, if there are still some skeptics out there, who do not want to accept the fact that the `green cars` can also go as fast as hell, if the great Tesla Model S P85D was not a proof enough that these awesome cars, powered by an electric engine, can be lightning fast, then here comes the final, mega-proof! It is a small and tiny vehicle that looks more like a mini-version of the older Formula 1 models, or even like a souped-up go-cart model, but still, this Green Team Formula Student project, an electric race car, model E0711 5, is the world`s fastest car, when it comes to acceleration!
As you could have read in the title, even though unbelievable and astonishing, the numbers are right – from 0 to 62 mph in just 1.779 seconds! This also means an improvement of 0.006 seconds, compared with the previous record!
In other words, this small battery powered E0711 5 `go-cart`, developed and constructed by the University of Stuttgart`s engineers, is actually faster than the Bugatti Veryon (officially the fastest road car in the world), and even faster than any Formula 1 racing bolid. And this says a lot, wouldn`t you agree?
