Having problems with your vehicle is natural. Even though they are built to last, this doesn`t mean they will work perfectly all of the time! The video we are sharing with you today is about a sticky throttle on a car, and explains how to do throttle cleaning properly. If you have been experiencing trouble with the throttle, then this video will be perfect for you! As EricTheCarGuy, the creator of this great video says, the main cause for the sticky throttle is basically gum up or varnish that builds up around the throttle plate.
This prevents the throttle plate from moving freely, forcing you to push the pedal harder than usual. However, there is a quick and easy way of taking care of this particular problem, so you have no reason to worry!
First, you will need to get access to the throttle plate. You should see a rubber snorkel blocking the access, so you will need to get rid of it in order to get to the throttle plate itself. After the rubber snorkel has been put aside, the throttle cleaning can commence! You will need to use a throttle cleaner and spray it on the throttle plate. Don`t forget to open the throttle plate and spray some throttle cleaner inside as well. Afterwards, take a rag and clean the throttle plate. Put the rubber snorkel back after you are done with the throttle cleaning and you are done!
You might experience some trouble starting your engine after the cleaning is done, so you should hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor. You should also note that every vehicle is different, and some might not respond well to this treatment. With that being said, we leave it to you to further your knowledge. Cheers!
