To be honest, I cannot start this article without expressing compassion to all Duramax owners. But let`s get real, this can happen to everyone at any time and in this video time the victim is this huge Chevy Duramax. Filmed at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison Colorado, this video shows a drag race that did not start well for the owner of the truck as his Duramax breaks tie rods. Chevy lovers argue that this is actually a fairly common in Chevy trucks and the problem is connected with the incorporated I.F.S (Independent Front Suspension) System. That thing gives the truck a smoother ride, but lower performance, so one of the conclusions is that these types of systems should be only permitted on half ton trucks.
However, Chevy Diesel mechanics reply with different opinion. According to them, this failure is a result of improper installation. Do you agree?! Wait until you watch this video and this situation where the driver just kept flooring the truck, when there was obviously something wrong going on.
Maybe the tie rods were not original… Maybe that was not a lucky “horoscope” day for the driver… Lots of reasons can be listed, but one thing is sure: Dmax is not for everyone!
