Some of the most experienced and highly skilled car restoration guys have been involved in the business since their childhood. It was due to their family members that they first got in touch with cars. The story about the one and only Duane Mayer is no different. The legendary host from American Hot Rod is on the TV screens for quite a while now and we all know him thanks to his awesome restoration projects. His childhood hobby turned into passion at the age of 16 when he was attending Beloit Memorial High School. He owned a 1967 Chevelle Malibu back in the days. His life had completely changed when he met Boyd Coddington, a car restoration legend, in California. The talent that Duane Mayer possessed was inevitable and soon after he moved to California to put everything to the test.
In 1987, Duane began building some of the most incredible hot rods that we have ever seen at Orange County together with Boyd. This amazing pair of pure talent had major success during the five seasons of the show, from 2004 to 2008. In the course of these 4 years some of the most amazing cars have been designed and manufactured, with the likes of Cadzzilla, Alumatub and 1963 Chevy Corvette Stingray. Duane is still part of the car restoration business and he was just recently spotted at the 2017 SEMA show in October. With great success comes large sum of money. Throughout his career he has earned millions of dollars from his clients. Duane was recently involved in an accident but luckily everything is just fine now. However, his car suffered the most damage. Together with Bernt they have set up a new business as well!
