The very first 1968 Maserati Ghibli Spyder is on auction. Even though it was produced in 125 units, the rarest one of them, the prototype is now being shown and auctioned at the RM Auction in Monterey. This yellow extravagance first appeared at the Turin Auto Show in 1968. Since then it served merely as a basis for the future Spyder generations. It has been owned by several people, while the last 30 years were being spent in the repository.
This historic Maserati`s state of the art piece was cleaned, put away and had only passed 40,000 miles. Needless to say master work of Italian automotive classicism is rather pricy- $1,200,000 and $1,800,000.
