Hardcore racing fans should keep close attention of what goes on in the Tesla part of the drag realm. The record-holding Tesla Model S P100D is getting way closer to become the first 9 seconds Tesla car. This car is tuned by the crew behind the Tesla Racing Channel. This famous Model S P100D began its modded life by removing its frunk. This was a tip given by Elon Musk that proved to be extremely efficient. However, now Tesla Racing Channel`s Model S P100D comes back with drag radials and a stripped interior, trunk liner included. The only major components you can find in the cabin now is the aluminum racing seats and the dashboard.
Outside the car, its stock factory wheels and tires has been replaced with BBS rims, which are 19×10-inch. The BBS rims are shod in drag radials. Following the aforementioned diet, the Tesla Model S P100D, has lost 360lbs and now weighs phenomenal 4,600lbs. This is still far away from the 1,100lbs weight loss of Tesla`s official racecar that competes in the Electric GT Championship. Nevertheless, this is very impressive for an amateur racer. The stripped interior and drag radials means that the Tesla Racing Channel could now beat its previous world record of 10.44s on the quarter-mile and enter the 9`s.
