Well, I would say that for those of you who are familiar with the 911 Porsche 997 GT2 this should not be such a big surprised, because for years now, this awesome and technically superb German car has been one of the very best GT cars on the scene (along with the Japanese Nissan GTR). Of course, we all love the Chevy Corvette, but sometime, things are not the way some of us would like them to be.
When it comes to the Porsche, the 911 GT2 series is arguably one of the fastest models of this breed, powered by a couple of turbo motors that are delivering over 500 HP and makes it hit form 0 to 60 mph in only 3.3 seconds. Also, it is one of the small numbers of Porsche 911 versions that can achieve the `high-profiled` range of 200 mph.
Its opponent in this drag battle is a C7 generation of Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a convertible model, which just as all `Vette aficionados know well, it is pretty much capable of achieving the same results as its hardtop counterpart, even though we do not get to see it very often in drag races.
The following drag race between the 911 Porsche 997 GT2 and the C7 Corvette Z06 convertible is actually on a half-mile distance, and even though the `Vette is off to a good start, at the second part of the race, somehow it loses its grip when those twin turbos `got mad`.
