When you think about racing, the Formula 1 races probably come to mind first. However, there have been a few special Formula 1 drivers over the years that left much more of a lasting impression with their fan base than others.
Take for example Gilles Villeneuve – he was famous for his spectacular racing style where he would overtake his opponents in a daring and foolhardy manner, which is why he kept winning all of those races. However, he was also a big charmer and he used this trait to get more and more fans that would be attracted to his gentleness, shyness and all around great sense of humor. Some might even say that Gilles Villeneuve himself was the epitome of “goodness” in racing sports.
Another special Formula 1 driver is Ayrton Senna, called “The Rainmaster”. Once, he set a fastest lap with the use of a shortcut right through the pit lane. Also, he considered overtaking people and being overtook as a personal matter, often making these things seem more important than they really are. Of course, there were also Montoya, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and David Coulthard, but none of them could come close to the magnanimous champion that is Michael Schumacher, who is the most successful driver in the history of the sport. Once, Schumacher even tried to create a no-overtaking pact at Monza, and even though it failed, he still went on to win seven world titles. Now that`s what I call a special Formula 1 driver!
