Lately there has been a surge in terrorist attacks all over the world, but not one of the places attacked had these things – security bollards! These unmovable pillars of steel are made to defend against attacks on important buildings via vehicles. They can stop virtually anything – from a motorbike to an 18-wheeler truck. They can be activated at the push of a button and they instantly jump up from their dormant, underground silos and shoot out in the air, stopping anything that was going down the road. Whether it`s a truck filled with explosives or just a car speeding right into an important building, nothing gets past them!
A lot of people have said that they work on a cruel principle, but what`s so cruel about wanting to defend yourself? Security bollards aren`t a luxury that everyone can afford, but those that can, usually have good reason to use them. They can be found in front of buildings such as the White House, Federal Reserve and so on, and so far they have never failed to stop whatever was going at those buildings.
