The Renault Sport RS 01 was presented to the automotive public the previous year as the successor of the Mégane Trophy in the World Series competition by Renault. This vehicle is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine amplified by twin-turbo system as in the Nissan GT-R Nismo. All that power is sent to the wheels via the 7-speed competition sequential transmission by Sadev.
Anyway, in order to meet the criteria of GT3, this vehicle needed to be tamed. In other words, the French automaker added more than 50 lbs of mass and 100+ lbs in ballast! Plus, the vehicle has been lifted in order to enlarge the drag.
