We are sure that many of you wonder what happens if you pull the electronic parking brake or electronic handbrake while driving, so with this video AutoVlog aims to find out. This experiment has already been done by another YouTuber by the name of Cletus MacFarlane on his 900HP Corvette. However, AutoVlog still received tons of requests to make this video and to hear his take on it. He is doing this experiment on his Ford Fusion. MacFarlane`s Corvette is a manual while AutoVlog`s Ford Fusion is an automatic. We don`t know if that makes a significant difference but it`s definitely worth checking out.
At first, he is pulling the electronic handbrake on a very low speed, just 4-5 miles per hour. If you pull the electronic parking brake at below 5mph, the car will simply stop. So, let`s see what happens if you pull the brake at a higher speed. As soon as the car is at 40mph, he pulls the electronic break and the car simply breaks. However, it only breaks as long as you hold the button up, but as soon as he let it go it stops breaking. Most likely this isn`t very healthy for the car and probably you shouldn`t be doing this. Nevertheless, it`s good to know what happens if you are in a situation where the regular breaks are not working.
