Back in 2014, an Airbus A340 and a Boeing 767 are involved in a near-miss on Spanish runway. The quick-thinking Boeing 767 pilot from the Russian airline company Utair decided to perform a last minute “go-around procedure”. The hero pilot decided to perform this in order to evade colliding with the Airbus A340 which was about take flight to Argentina. The Airbus taxied across the Boing`s path so the pilot aborting its landing was a decision that saved countless lives. Fortunately, after doing the emergency procedure, the Boeing was landed safely without any problems whatsoever.
The entire footage that reveals this frightening scenario was recorded by Miguel Angel. He posted this video to You Tube and has immediately gone viral with millions of views. Miguel Angel is a guy who constantly posts videos on YouTube. However, he says that this one is the most frightening videos of them all. He goes to states that this experience is also the most frightening he ever had. Completely understandable considering that this is a situation just seconds from being a major disaster with a lot of casualties.
However, what was the reason for this misunderstanding that could`ve caused the biggest disaster on this Spanish runway? Well, it could be that the instructions given to the Airbus were completely misunderstood by the pilot. Another scenario is that the Airbus never even heard the instructions due to technical difficulties. Whatever the case may be, the Boeing pilot managed to save the situation with his quick-thinking decision.
