New Hyundai is making its final preparations before moving into the new vehicle test center at Nürburgring track in Germany. The purpose of this facility is increasing the capacity for vehicle testing and providing a resource for vehicle evaluation on the toughest track from this kind in the world. The test center will be completed by August 2013, established with metallic finish and exterior glass on 4 floors with 3.622 m2 (with workshops, VIP Area and office space and a VIP hospitality area).
The facility will cost €5,5 million. Hyundai`s current R&D center is in Rüsselsheim, Germany. This European powertrain, evaluation and tuning division was opened in 2003. Each of these divisions will have access to the new Nürburgring company`s center in order to increase the number of vehicle assessments, together with the “accelerated durability tests” which simulate about 180.000 km of testing. The purpose is to provide improved valuable data on a big range of parameters.
Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, Allan Rushforth said that quality is one of the most important core values of Hyundai and it`s the best way to customer satisfaction. The ultimate location at Nürburgring will provide better conditions for applying our knowledge on the vehicle projects developed by Hyundai. According to him this new center will increase the testing capacity and will provide direct benefits to their customers in terms of performance and quality.
This new Hyundai facility will enable the completion of all the accelerated durability, steering, ride, suspension and handling tests on eleven vehicles in 2013 in order to provide better set-ups according to the European drivers preferences.
