Readers at Muscle Cars Zone are totally crazy about fully functional scale model engines, and we are definitely with you. So, in this video we can see another very cool miniature, a 1:4 scale flathead V8 built by maestro Ron Colonna. This engine was created very early in Colonna`s scale building career. He used Challenger castings and plans his wife gifted him for Christmas. This flathead challenger V8 resembles a Ford, however, its exhaust and intake ports are situated on top like an old-school Cadillac or Cord L-head V8. As with all Ron Colonna`s engines, the workmanship is stellar.
This 1:4 scaled Challenger V8 displaces an entire 100cc. It might be small, however, all of the needed parts that make an engine are there. The amount of determination and patience that went into this scaled-down flathead V8 must be insane. Colonna has also created a scaled Harley Panhead, Bentley and Gnome rotary radial engines, and a 270 Offenhauser. However, of all the engines he has created, this one is the most popular. We suspect that one reason for that might be the awesome sound it delivers. He has demonstrated this engine so many times, that he already had to restore it twice. Here`s your opportunity to hear that awesome roar.
