We got some news that will make Elon Musk mad! There hasn`t been a week since the CEO of Tesla has announced his new master plan to electrify urban transit and heavy trucks! However, Mercedes are keeping up and introduced their own Urban eTruck which is an-all-electric-semi!
The part “urban” isn’t for nothing! Unlike a long haul-truck, this one is destined to do a regular city route! The Urban eTruck has an electric motor attached to each hub on the back axle! Each of the motors have 167HP and 368 lb-ft! All of that torque combined equals to 8,100 pound-feet! Mercedes announced that all of this torque doesn`t come at the expense of range! The 212 kWh battery pack delivers 124-mile range! The German manufacturer says that this is enough for a truck to cover a day full of deliveries!
