Mercedes chose the `R` letter for their upcoming model in the GT series which is a pretty odd choice! Everyone associates the GT R with Nissan`s powerful super car! Nevertheless, the Mercedes GT R will be a power to be reckoned with as well!
The Mercedes GT R is expected to have a twin turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine delivering around 600HP! With a dual clutch seven speed transmission it should have a faster acceleration of 62MPH than the current S model! The GT R should be also lighter than the 3,627 lbs heavy GT S! Parts of the body will be made out of carbon fiber!
The German automaker also announced that will introduce other models in the near future! The GT R is not the last we`ll see from the GT series!
