Among many great videos from people doing some incredible DIY projects, there are quite a few that stand out and are really special. Such is probably the following one in which we will take a look at the complete process of a man building a Damascus knife entirely out of bike chain from scratch. And he manages to make, not one, not two, not three but four such knives. The process begins fairly straightforward. The bike chain is folded over couple of times until he is satisfied with the thickness, and then it is welded together on couple of spots.
This keeps that chain from falling apart during the fornicating and forming process. After everything is nice and ready, the piece of chain is placed in the hot furnace for the first time. After it goes super hot, it is time to start forming the knife. He begins off by hitting with a hammer and flattening it out. This first initiative process is done without any help of machinery. Then after couple of times flattening the Damascus knife out, it is time for it to go under a pressing machine.
This gets the job done much easier and faster. After couple of hours of hard work, the Damascus knife looks ready but it needs to go through the last step, which is the cleaning. This helps the knife to get a good shine. The handle looks so cool and the pieces of the chain can be seen on the blade. What do you think, is this the best knife ever made?
