Doug DeMuro had the opportunity to drive the most insanely built, unusually designed, wildly styled car of the 1990s. We are talking about the Lamborghini Diablo 6.0. Now, this version of the Diablo is technically build in the early 2000s. However, it perfectly represents the supercar world in the 1990s. To truly prove this is the craziest car of the 1990s, Doug DeMuro gives a lot of interesting points. The Diablo`s story begins in 1990 just after Lambo was bought by Chrysler. The early Diablo cars were the craziest. They featured very poor user-friendly control and had the most problems and technical issues. Chrysler then sold Lambo to an investment group in 1994. Nevertheless, Lambo reached its peak when VW purchased them in 1998.
All Diablo cars used a massive V12 engine, and the new owners managed to make something people can actually drive. The first cars used a 485HP 5.7L V12. Then a VT version featuring an all-wheel-drive was introduced in 1993. A SV model was released in 1995 that packed 510 HP. Nevertheless, a convertible-top Roadster was released in 1996. However, Doug DeMuro`s favorite Diablo is the SE30. This car debuted in 1994. Most of the SE30 cars were painted purple. Nevertheless, by all accounts, the final Diablo that debuted in 2001 and goes by the name of Diablo 6.0 is probably the best of the lot. By fitting a 6.0L engine, the Diablo`s HP rating was increased to 550. Meaning that the 6.0 is the fastest Diablo if we don`t include the track-only Lambo Diablo GT.
