Depending on where and when you grew up, you will most likely associate the name David Hasselhoff with Baywatch, Knight Rider or perhaps a washed-up actor. However, one thing that can never be taken from Hasselhoff is his link with one of the biggest automotive icons in TV -- 1986 Pontiac Firebird!
The Knight Industries Two Thousand or simply known as KITT. Some may even go as far to say that not The Hoff but the KITT was the real star of Knight Rider. This is not the real KITT used in the TV Show but a replica based on the Pontiac Firebird 1986! Nevertheless, it is just as glorious.
This recreation of the KITT comes with all the technology like the plethora of buttons and the yoke steering wheel. All this looks hilariously outdated now! However, it is a perfectly done recreation. The interior is also carefully done which includes a box that has over 4.000 sound clips from Knight Rider. This KITT Pontiac Firebird 1986 is fitted with a 5.0L V8 engine that includes an automatic transmission as well. This is likely very period-correct. Unfortunately, besides all the accuracy this replica does not transform into Super Pursuit Mode like in the TV show`s latter seasons. Enjoy the video.
