21.37 Trillion Sales Revenue!
Hyundai Motor Company announced 2013 first quarter earnings results. This Korean giant has 6.0 % of increase in the sales revenue, compared to the first quarter last year.
Thanks to addition of a subsidiary Hyundai KEFICO and the strong sales outside Korea, Hyundai Motors had sales revenue of 21.37 trillion won, automobile: 17.66 trillion and others 3.70 trillion. The operating profit as well as net profit decreased 10.7% and 14.9%, due to increased costs because of increased one time provisions and weaker currency.
Hyundai Sold 1,171,804 Units Worldwide!
In the first quarter of this year Hyundai sold 1,171,804 units worldwide, from which 153,728 are sold in Korea and 1,018,076 overseas, that is a 9.2 % increase from same period last year. However, Hyundai sales in Korea felt 0.7 % from the previous year, but its overseas sales increased up to 10.9 % or 1,018,076 units.
Its production volume in the Korean plants decreased during the 1st quarter of 2013 because of increased fixed costs due to the production stoppages on weekends.
Hyundai`s Qualitative Management and Qualitative Growth!
Hyundai always aims to strengthen its position on the global market through quality management and qualitative growth. In order to do so, Hyundai plans to reinforce sales and service network, launch local strategic models as well as organize the aggressive marketing activities.
One of the best examples is the model HB20 which is produced in the Hyundai`s Brazilian manufacturing plant since the end of the last year. This vehicle won 5 major awards including the Brazilian Car of the Year for 2013.
It is very important to say that Hyundai`s market shares in Europe and India are on the rise. In the U.S. the sales of the new Elantra exceeded 2,000,000 units since it was launched in 1991 mostly because of the differentiated marketing strategies and enhanced quality.
