• Premium SUV Grand Santa Fe with six or seven seats revealed in Geneva Motor Show
• Ride and handling are adjusted to European consumers
• This SUV has the biggest in class cargo space, longer wheelbase and bigger space inside
Hyundai unveiled Grand Santa Fe at the 2013 “Salon International de l’Auto” in Geneva. Actually, this is Premium SUV from E segment with extended wheelbase.
After a long expertise, Grand Santa Fe joined the already successful New Generation Santa Fe on the oldest continent. This new model was designed alongside the regular model from the earliest stages in order to meet the demand in this region for a longer wheelbase version.
“Storm Edge” design philosophy that Hyundai successfully applied on the New Santa Fe (Santa Fe Sport on some markets), is now recognized in the design of his bigger “brother” too.
Grand Santa Fe made its world debut at the New York International Show last year. This time, the same vehicle with special adjustment on ride and handling characteristics has been developed specially for the European market.
Brand new Grand Santa Fe is 10 mm higher, 5 mm wider and 225 mm longer due to an enlarged wheelbase of 100 mm. The biggest advantage of this model is the biggest in class cargo space of 607 liters.
This larger model also offers six or seven seats options, providing passengers larger space and more comfort even on the longest journeys.
The biggest differences with the New Generation Santa Fe can be found on the face-lifted radiator grille, new shape on the fog lamps and front bumper and new larger rear lights. Grand Santa Fe can be equipped with 18 or 19 inches alloy wheels.
There is only one diesel carefully-matched engine with Euro 5 standard emitting only 192 g of CO₂ per km on the European combined driving. The engine is 2,2 liters R- VGT and produces 197 ps, it is mated to 6-gears automatic transmission, special ride and handling characteristics, together with 3-modes steering system, 4,3-inch TFT Supervision Cluster and a huge panoramic sunroof.
Mr. Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO at Hyundai Motor Europe said that Grand Santa Fe will meet bigger demand of SUV vehicles from the E segment in the European Market. He announced that Hyundai has a tradition of offering the premium vehicles that meets the highest standards of quality, for affordable price. According to him Grand Santa Fe is the ideal choice for the big families.
