One of the models with already many awards for its achievements, deserved to be added at the top of the D-segment is the model i40. At first this model flashed with its crossover wagon variant and then with its classic sedan variant, with many “coupe” details, but incorporated harmoniously.

At its debut Hyundai i40 leaved breathless those who initially did not believe in the success of this model. This model was awarded with one of the most prestigious awards for quality and safety, the Golden Prize “EuroCarBody”. The award was handed over at the ceremony in the development center of Hyundai in Russelsheim, Germany by Franziska Mioning, the editor of “Automotive Circle International“, on behalf of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.
The jury includes over 530 experts from the automotive world from 30 countries. They declared that Hyundai i40 is the best model of nine other brands. Korean company became the first Asian car manufacturer, honored with this award during its first participation in this competition.

5 Star Rating from Euro NCAP!
Experts recognized that the i40 light construction with quality steel and advanced construction assemblies has the highest performances in the energy absorption, which provides excellent protection for the passengers in the event of a collision.
The i40 received the maximum score of 5 stars in crash-test of Euro NCAP and that shows the values and security of this car.
The new i40 has integrated the latest systems for active and passive safety, which are providing the maximum passenger protection. Active systems according to standards in some countries include ABS, TCS, ESP, Hill Assist, VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), brake assist and an emergency stop signal.
In the field of passive safety every i40 will be equipped with 9 airbags -- front, side, curtains and a driver knee air bar. This is a standard option at the all trim levels.

The i40 has the Most Spacious Cabin in the Class!
Hyundai states that the i40’s cabin is the most spacious in the class. This was achieved with a total length of 4.740 mm, width of 1815 mm and height of 1.470 mm. Besides modern design Hyundai announces i40 as a benchmark for roominess inside, obtained by cleverly constructing the wheelbase of 2.770 mm. Front seats are with height of 1.025 mm, the rear seats are with height of 965 mm. The space offers 1,170 feet on the front and 850 from behind, while the area of the shoulders on the front of the i40 is 1.455 wide and is 1.420 mm from behind.
The Hyundai i40 Powertrain!
The new i40 will be offered with ecological and economical petrol and diesel engines that meet the standards Euro V, in conjunction with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Definitely the most impressive is the new petrol engine with direct injection 2.0 Nu GDI (CVVT), which debuted at the i40. This engine delivers 177 hp at 6500 r/min and 208Nm at 4700 r/min.
The offer starts from 1.6 GDI with 135 hp at 6,300 rpm/min and maximum torque of 164 Nm at 4,850 rpm/min, enough for 11.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and the top speed of 195 km/h. Average consumption of the 1.6 GDI is 6,0 l/100 km.
1.7 CRDi diesel version comes with 115hp at 4,000 rpm/min and 260 Nm available between 1250-2750 rpm/min and high power version with 136hp at 4,000 rpm/min and 325Nm available between 2000-2500 rpm/min.
The low power version has a top speed of 190 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in 12.9 seconds, while the more powerful version`s top speed is 198 km/h and reaches the 100 for 10.6 seconds. Average consumption is 4.3 and 4.5 l/100 km. It should be noted that in the low level of consumption a big role has the start-stop system and regeneration of the energy during braking.
The Best in Class Expanded Standard Equipment Package for Hyundai i40!
At the Hyundai i40 there is an expanded standard equipment package, including numerous high-tech features which are available only as an option at the competitors` models. This will probably be one of the main factors for serious consumer interest in i40.
The car has an intelligent parking assistant system, Bluetooth with voice option, GPS navigation, back view camera, electric parking brake, ventilated front seats, heated front and rear seats and some new features like auto system for removal of windows condensation and heated steering wheel.
