The Hyundai i30 SR will be the Hyundai`s first entry into the heated up small car class models, with the sporty version of its popular hatchback. With this move Hyundai are aiming to deliver more dynamism and value to the brand. The future idea of Hyundai is to install the naturally aspirated 1.6 turbo engine with 201hp in the all-new Hyundai i30 SR. Let’s see if they will realize it, like they did in one of the Kia models. For now the most powerful option is a 2.0L GDI unit that produces 173hp with 209Nm which is an increase of 26hp and 31Nm over the 1.8L in the i30 Elite.
The biggest Korean brand claims that i30 SR will go from 0-100km/h in 7.7 sec (1.6 turbo) and 8.6 sec (2.0 GDi) and 1.4 and 1.0 seconds faster than the comparable models. The suspension of the car has been upgraded in order to handle the additional engine power, with front springs and tuned Sachs dampers, therefore this model is 4% stiffer than the on with the standard suspension.
From the exterior i30 SR features xenon headlamps,17″ alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, sport grille, blacked out window surround SR badges and rear spoiler. The interior comes with additional sporty alloy pedals and a rear view mirror with electrochromatic option, smart key and button start, Bluetooth. 6 speker audio, rear parking camera, cruise control, dual air conditioner and a 7-inch media screen with Satellite Nav.
