The question is who will be the first one to do so and thus gain the upper hand on the market? Well, the Nikola Motor Company are definitely a candidate as they are bursting with ideas! And the proof of their creativity lies right here in this Nikola hybrid semi truck concept!
The Nikola Motor Company is talking about a hybrid semi-truck that is actually having the ability to pull 80K pounds of gross weight! Also this hybrid semi will have the capability of driving 1,200 miles before stops! Its engine specifications are amazing as well! It`ll be fitted with 6 engines – one for every wheel! The cockpit will have high tech touch features! This hybrid semi-truck will also have the ability to drive a convoy consisted of 5 driverless trucks behind it! This actually sounds like a hybrid locomotive!
The turbine generator will be fueled by a 150 gallon Hybrid storage! The turbine generator drives all of its 6 engines! It will have a 355HP electric engine and a dual reduction gear for all of its 6 wheels! This will actually grant this hybrid semi-truck over 2.000HP! It`ll also be fitted with an independent suspension that will provide a very smooth ride!
This hybrid semi concept has been developed in total secrecy for the past 3 years! And no wonder! If realized, this idea will be a total game changer in the truck industry!
