We were certain that this concept will become reality eventually. It was only a matter of time. Now, it is officially confirmed that a Hungarian company managed to create an electric scooter that can fold in two and be carried around as luggage! We have something similar to this numerous times in futuristic movies and TV series, so it doesn`t really surprise us that this product is real! Electric scooters have been used for transportation before, however they were often dubbed as bulky.
Nonetheless, this didn`t stop the Hungarian company Antro to continue to work and improve this concept. The result of their work was the folding scooter with a vastly improved portability! This green transportation vehicle can be folded and wheeled like a suitcase! With this feature, there is no need for a parking space for this portable scooter! This way, using this genius product on an airport can reduce the time to get from one terminal to another by a large margin!
The folding scooter is capable of going up to 28 miles per hour. It is battery powered, and one charge will allow you to travel just under 22 miles! It weighs about 50 pounds and it`s made from carbon fiber. The relatively small weight allows people to carry it around when they are not driving it. If the battery depletes, you can recharge it using the pedal generator this portable scooter has. The Hungarian company Antro worked on this concept for almost 5 years, and now they released the prototype!
It was however, met with mixed response, with the negative comments coming mostly about the price of the folding scooter. Apparently, this portable vehicle will cost anywhere from 3,100 to 4,600 dollars! Would you buy one of these? Watch the video and let us know what you think!
