The launch of the 65th Autorama Detroit 2017 has just arrived. It`s the 65th annual edition of the renowned car show and it has one of the best openings yet. In the spirit of the Dukes of Hazzard, the opening stunt featured the 1969 General Lee Charger flying through the air. Literally! The famous charger was TV gold back in the days.
Having said that, making a remake of this scene for all these gearheads is a spectacular view. The General Lee made a 25 feet high jump. It flew for more than 150 feet down on Atwater Street. Every pilot can tell you that the takeoff is very important.

The landing the General Lee performed during the Autorama Detroit 2017 was the highlight. Upon watching the landing, you can see the heavy damage the sheetmetal and the front suspension sustained. Beside this, the passenger door completely flew open. This is more than enough to grasp everyone`s attention. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this spectacular stunt and the driver walked away.
However, we suppose the driver had a small backache at least. Nevertheless, the sheetmetal guy has a lot of work to do after this feat. Numerous front end pieces has to be replaced and the frame straightened as well.
