If you have ever wondered what the whole production process of a certain part looks like, check out the following video which gives a unique footage of the amazing gear life.
And it has something more than the production itself. The whole process goes way back to the projection. It takes hours and sometimes days to complete a detailed projection of what the gear should look like. Then the documents are sent to the production factory where they are developed. A man prints out the gear and it is supposed to look like and forwards it to the skilled hands and ultimate machinery in the factory. A piece of metal tube, also known as the blank, is set on a cleaning machine.
After the piece is finally ready for cutting it is off to the high quality grinders which to the whole job on their own. All you have to do is to put the data inside and you are done. Just minutes after, the gear is complete. But if you though that this is it, you are wrong. A skilled worker takes the gear to inspection. Using a microscope he checks for any imperfections.
Once that is done, the part is sent back from where it was ordered. They thoroughly check once again and finally the pieces are put together. The amazing gear life ends when it is finally mounted onto the wheel itself. It takes a lot of work and effort to produce just one piece of gear!
