New technology is always looking for better and much safer ways to achieve better results and these guys made a complete breakthrough when it comes to cycling and it is called the Veridrive.
Most of you have probably never heard of this name before but check out the following video below and you will understand what the concept behind it is. Their video was posted on July 24th 2014 and they marked their progress. Nearly two years before this they had a new and, as they say, a completely mad idea. So what this can be? They wanted to create a complete game changer. A picture is shown of their prototype, what it looked like back then. Then we see a picture of the development drive which they ended up with.
The concept was to create a high torque variable speed chain drive which they named it the Veridrive. We see several pictures from the mechanism and, to be honest, it looks awesome. They also claim that it has enough CAD data to go round the Earth 10 times, though they admit it is a bit of exaggeration. Your heart rate, cadence and the lactic acid can be easily and accurately controlled.
The Veridrive has every gear ratio you could possibly think of. We see the system in action and it truly is something amazing and unique. It is capable of changing speed under high torque conditions. What do you think, could this mechanism be the future of cycling?
