10 years ago, if somebody told you that electric cars would take over the automotive industry you would call them mad. Well, as it turns out, today most auto manufacturers are developing and designing all-electric car technology. However, now in the latter part of the 10s, the electric revolution is slowly starting to take over the skies. We have one example of this in the video below. The battery technology is allowing several companies to bring their fully electric airplanes into production. In this video, we get a very neat explanation about the state-of-the-art fixed wing electric aircraft.
Remember the German company Siemens who used to be one of the industry leader in all kinds of electric products? Well, it looks like they are not sitting idle and are developing a state-of-the-art electric airplane. Their fully electric aircraft shattered two old records. First, they broke the record for a fastest electric airplane flying at a straight-line. The airplane flew at 211mph. Up next, they broke the climbing record which was rising to 1.8 miles in about 4 minutes. The Siemens electric airplane was also the first one to tow. This was done thanks to the highly complex electric motor by Siemens.
