Great Compilation Of Old Diesel Engines Starting Up! Enjoy The Music!
Don`t you just love how old diesel engines start up? This video details the sound of a bunch of them, going from a V12 Deutz engine with its rough but perfect sound, to a number of Detroit Diesel engines which start up fairly slowly but when they get going, they sound like a chainsaw! One guy tries to start a 4 cylinder Lister engine by hand and his friend gets a mouthful of smoke when the engine turns on.
Another incredible example is a 1955 Fowler that hadn`t been fired up in 10 years, but still sounds pretty good!
The smoothest start and running sound of these old diesel engines has the Rolls Royce Eagle, which is to be expected since Rolls Royce has always been a prestigious firm when it comes to machinery.
Even engines all the way from 1936, namely a Fairbanks-Morse model, are fired up in this incredible video.
There is a D9G Caterpillar dozer that starts off slowly and sounds like it has some mechanical problems but I`m sure it`s nothing that can`t be fixed.
