The video went so viral that many people made their own. But with so many builds, that much answers needed to be answered. In order to put an end to all these dilemmas, The King Of Random made a follow up on that tutorial on how you can improve your metal foundry.
There are several solutions to the problem of your foundry simply cracking up immediately, or after couple of time using it. All you have to do to harden the plaster and play sand mixture is to put strands of steel wool inside the bucket. This will make the foundry at least 10 times stronger.
The temperature inside the metal foundry reaches well over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, thus meaning that you can easily melt aluminum, brass, silver and even gold. Though it cannot melt steel, you can still use the foundry to forge it. In terms of the crucible, you can use the bottom of a fire extinguisher, but make sure that is a steel one hence if it is not; it will melt inside the foundry. Even better solution to this problem, is to use a clay-graphite crucible. Though it might be pricey, it is worth buying one. It will last longer and it will take much of an abuse.
