British Anguilla & St. Martin Have Been Absolutely Ravaged By Hurricane Irma!

British Anguilla and St. Martin are two islands one right next to the other, and they were both in the path of Hurricane Irma in September of 2017.

However, St. Martin had it worse – the eye of the hurricane passed directly overhead and destroyed much more than it did in Anguilla. However, the response of the French government in St. Martin is much more efficient than the response of the British government in their own Anguilla – practically everything on the former is being cleaned up and attempts are being made to make everything a little bit better, but the latter is a different story. The authorities in Anguilla haven`t really dedicated their best efforts to helping out with the situation on the island, the locals believe.

Even though British Anguilla has been far less damaged than St. Martin, the British relief effort has not arrived in any way, shape or form. No power companies have arrived, nor have any plumbing or clean-up crews landed on the island. Meanwhile, there is a noticeable huge relief effort going on, on St. Marten. British Anguillans are basically feeling betrayed by their government because with half the damage that St. Martin has, they are getting zero help from their officials and the mainland. Also, on St. Martin there was a harbor for yachts that is now a graveyard for them, and the island officials and crews are just now starting to pull them out because they`re just wrecks in the ocean with absolutely no use but to be recycled.
