A clothing designer`s automobile creation became actor and singer Bobby Darin`s dream car. Andy Di Dia is a Detroit native and renowned for traditional and elegant clothing designs. However, his single car design was unconventional and unrestrained.
The construction of the 1960 DiDia was fully hand-built and lasted for 7 years (1953-1960). The production wasn`t cheap either, it cost over 150,000 dollars to build. Today, that`s around $1.5 million. It is powered by a V8 engine and has a 125-inch wheelbase.
Di Dia was a big friend of Bobby Darin and Bobby was completely enchanted by this vehicle and obtained it right away.

Bobby Darin was also seen driving this car in both movies and the Academy Awards. After his death in 1970, the car was donated. The 1960 DiDia is a luxury car that has some very peculiar and over-done details. The paint is a beautiful metallic red laced with diamonds for sparkle. In the back, you can see the huge tail fins that are more appropriate for airplane wings.
There are also neatly concealed details like the hidden taillights and headlights that swivel when the car turns. This looks like a car that would grasp the attention of Gotham`s Caped Crusader – Batman. Today, this car resides in a museum located in St. Louis, Missouri.
However, here is a list for anyone that`s interested in the rarest cars of today`s time!
