The Caterpillar 797F is an off highway, ultra class haul truck that is developed and manufactured by Caterpillar Inc., and it is their biggest dump truck yet! This masterpiece of engineering has some truly astonishing features. Its size is almost unbelievable, given the fact that this beauty is 49 feet and 6 inches long, 31 feet and 3 inches wide, and 25 feet and 4 inches high! Now that is what we call COLOSSAL! On top of that, the Caterpillar 797F has a curb weight of 1,375,000lb! It is like a mountain on wheels!
It is because of its dimensions that this dump truck belongs in the ultra-class haul trucks! For those of you who happen to not know yet, ultra-class dump trucks are the largest and highest payload capacity haul trucks! This class includes all trucks that have a payload capacity of 300 short tons or greater!
In other words, this means that the Caterpillar 797F can move an overwhelming amount of materials at once! As for its engine, this dump truck has a gross 4000 horsepower (2,983kW), 20-cylinder, quad turbocharged, air to air cooled, four stroke diesel engine to power it up!
