The Batmobiles have transcended generations as the Bond cars and they also remain cool. But the Batmobile Tumbler from the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (directed by Christopher Nolan) is the most technically significant Batman’s car since the George Barris’ ’60s version.
This tank-like Tumbler has Chevy’s 350-cid V8 that runs to 60 mph in around five seconds (with 37″ off-road tires). The body of the car is made of more then 65 carbon-fiber panels and the front tires are mounted to an independent front suspension. The Tumbler is really simple, because it has not a computer animated fantasy. It is a real piece of science fiction work.
