Well, maybe at a first thought, your initial reaction won`t make you feel very excited about it. Probably `cause you have never heard of it – Ritsona Hillclimb competition. And on top of that, a car that (probably) isn`t very familiar to you, an Opel Ascona. So first, I`ll tell you that it is an interesting and quite an exciting competition that is coming from the Balkan peninsula of Europe, or from Greece, to be more exact. And we are perfectly aware that if instead of that Opel, there were some Detroit muscle like the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, or even some of those `overrated` imports, things would`ve been different. But don`t give up on this drift machine just yet…
Those of you who have been with us for some time, know well that we love showing you clips from different corners of the world, in order to get familiar with their car culture. And when it comes to the Balkans, the German-American Opel Ascona (yes, it`s part of the GM group, and it`s powered by their motors) is a ride with quite a decent reputation.
Unfortunately, the author of this video didn`t bother to give us some info about the car, so we won`t speculate anything about it. We`ll just mention that it left us quite a good impression taking that curve, skillfully driving sideways, and even sparkling for a moment.
So check out the video and later on, if you feel like it, you can tell us what you think about it in the comment section below. And if you get intrigued about the Opel Ascona and want to read an interesting article about another, very similar drift Opel specimen, click here.
