Check out this amazing video with few raw clips from as the ex Gas Monkey Garage mechanic Aaron Kaufman runs his 1963 Ford Falcon at the Pike`s Peak International Hill Climb. This road is 12.42 miles long, with 156 turns and exactly 4,720 feet altitude climb and its giving the amazing challenge to all the racers for more than 100 years.
This 1963 Ford Falcon is a concept of Jim Hadden and it has 363ci Ford’s Boss small-block engine with 500 horsepower, but they were planing to boost even more power from this motor with the new fuel injection and a classic muscle car blower. The weight of the car is 3155 lbs because they took out the stock interior and added a light racing roll cage.
As for the Pike`s Peak International Hill Climb road Aaron said that you need to memorize 100% of the course and he is fair away from that. Therefore, when he pulls in any turn it was like a guessing came because he has no idea what’s coming next. On this road there is no second chance as on the racing track, because you will go downhill somewhere on your first mistake. Aaron explained that he drives as hard as he can but he is always aware of the car’s abilities because if you make a mistake there are consequences to pay.
