The rider with the highest number of WorldSSP champion titles, Sofuoglu Kenan, has set his aims on something different – top speed record with a production motorcycle. He has performed many attempts and practice runs before getting ready for the actual run. The attempt happened at the opening of the new Osman Gazi Bridge, Turkey.
The attempt was made before research determined that the biggest chance of success was early morning. To be precise, it happened at 5AM in the morning complete with winglets and a specially made leather suit for Sofuoglu. The fearless rider also had a staggering depth of preparation for this feat.
When Kawasaki at first approached Sofuoglu Kenan for the task, they told him that the bike can go 238mph and that their dream was to hit 250mph. The Ninja H2R delivers 300HP and while it`s not modified it must be at least adjusted for this bold endeavor. Sofuoglu announced that while there were some tweaks, all the original settings were kept. This Ninja is a special edition that`s worth $50,000 and comes with an official warning that says it`s not to be used on public roads and is track-only.
