For those who don`t know, BMW and Toyota are in a sportscar collaboration! The 2018 BMW Z5 is the first car expected to come out of that alliance! According to sources, the Toyota model will come with a hard top whereas the BMW model will come with a soft top!
The chassis design centers around an exceptionally scalable construction with everything being developed around one medial point! In this sportscar collaboration, Toyota provides the hybrid system and all of the electronics as well. BMW on the other hand, will provide materials and engine expertise. No word from BMW has been released regarding powertrains. However, it is presumed that the 2018 BMW Z5 will be offered with a range of engine options!
