Here is one very cool and awesome jet engine animation that was first broadcasted on the History Channel in the UK. It comes from the documentary that goes by the name of “Whittle -- The Jet Pioneer”. The splendid animation was done by the CGI Studio – Rendermedia. This documentary actually reveals the massive struggle of Frank Whittle who was an engineer and aviator when the Nazis brought Europe into a hellish war. It`s a documentary about the air superiority between the Allies and Germany.
Ultimately, the young engineer became a very influential person of the previous century with one invention that changed our planet. However, we got to say that this animation looks a bit flawed. Now, don`t get us wrong, it`s a very cool animation and it will probably help you understand jet engines. However, this jet engine animation has one flaw. You can see fire going through the turbine. However, fire in a jet engine is ideally only found in the combustor can and not going all around the turbine as depicted in this animation. However, this is also an animation that showcases how old-fashioned jet engines worked back in 1948.
Having said this, it`s a single stage centrifugal turbine and compressor. Today, we use axial flow turbofans. Nevertheless, it shows us the basics about jet engines in a very peculiar way. Frank Whittle achieved being ranked number forty two in the BBC list of 100 Greatest Britons and he deserved his place on that list. Frank Whittle managed to revolutionize how we travel today and made all of our lives significantly easier.
