If you are hoping to learn the art of heel and toe driving, it`s best if you learn from the greatest like the legendary Brazilian F1 driver Ayrton Senna. This video has been around for some time that features Senna completely nailing an NSX around Japan`s legendary Suzuka circuit. However, the footage was with out-of-sync sound and rubbish quality. However, thanks to Malcom Edeson and his supreme editing skills, these pesky issues have been fixed. Now, we can witness the late three-time Formula One world champion demonstrating how to drive fast with fancy footwork.
Ayrton`s gentle but efficient approach is mind-blowing. This footage will definitely make any self-respecting gearhead to have a go at heel and toe. However, the 80s styled loafers are completely optional. It`s also worth mentioning that Ayrton did not have much seat-time in this vehicle when this footage was shot. This makes his driving instincts even more spectacular. You can see him using his right-hand above the spoke which is horizontal. Now, he probably used the horizontal spoke in order to pull down.
However, he was maybe feeling more comfortable using it this way since he always wanted a higher steering position. His footwork on the other hand is downright insane. You can see him tapping the pedal very smoothly as the car is dancing the tires with an extremely small deviation. With the immense cornering capability and closing speeds that Senna was used to, this Honda NSX was just a slow motion dance to him.
