Over the last couple of years, half-mile racing has transformed from a little, niche motorsport into a huge form of competition. Now, tuner cars are immensely fast and powerful. So powerful that even a quarter-mile dragstrip is not big enough for these monsters to test their ultimate power. This monstrous Nissan R35 GTR is definitely no exception.
Some time ago it had to try its powers at the airstrip and it managed to hit staggering 218mph! This insane car is built by Insanity Racing and it goes by the name of Switzer Goliath X. We got to say, this car is definitely deserving of the Goliath namesake.
This Nissan R35 GTR which is specially built to conquer the runway races against a 1000HP M5. However, because of the monstrous powers this car have, it gives the M5 approximately 1300-feet head start!
The M5 never stood a chance. However, the goals of the Switzer Goliath X are still not accomplished. It aims to hit 225 mph. When you take into consideration that it managed to hit 218 mph in this run, they are getting pretty close.
