Scott Briant is a gearhead who is very well known as a car builder. One of his most recognizable builds is the 1969 Mitsubishi colt that is powered by a Magna V6 twin turbo engine. However, in this article we are going to put our focus on one of his latest builds which is the Datsun 120Y car build. The Datsun is a genuine street vehicle that was very quick. With the Datsun 120Y car build, Scott Briant managed to do 11 seconds at a maximum speed of over 120mph! This should not come as a surprise when you take in mind that this car is powered by a Magna V6 that has 2 turbos on top of it.
Scott says that this engine was incredibly easy to mount. Both the trans tunnel and the engine bay are untouched. He only had to cut at the place where the dump pipe is recessed into the strut.
Briant is also a master at negotiating prices. Instead of dumping 1500 dollars on a brand-new turbo, Scott bought one for $350 on eBay!
