For all of you bike enthusiasts and bike aficionados, we have a real treat for you. Instead of just purchasing a mini bike at the store, this guy decides to create one with a more powerful torque converter and motor. As you know, mini bikes off-the-shelf don`t ride that fast. Reason why they don`t ride that fast is because of the stock clutch. So, you can find lots of videos on the internet where people instruct on how to tweak them in order to go faster. This guy has a great solution called Baja mini bike. If you install a nice torque converter, you don`t need to be rid of the governor.
This Baja mini bike originally can go up to 25mph. However, with these modifications, it can go up to 50mph with a 200 pound person onboard. For this project he uses a 30 series torque converter which is a replacement for Comet. Precisely speaking is a Chinese version. This one is way cheaper so if it works why not, right? He bought the engine from Harbor Freight Tools. It`s a pretty cheap motor, and apparently it works perfectly for this custom Baja mini bike project. Watch the video below and tell us what you think.
